It's In the Bucket
W
hen I first wrote about this little item I used it to carry seed packets and a few other small items to the garden. Since then I've increased the number I own and have found them perfect holding all the different pieces that make up my garden's drip irrigation system. It conveniently keeps all the parts in one place and when I need to make repairs I grab my bucket, a seat cushion for me knees and head out.

Carpenters, plumbers, and electricians have used the bucket trays to store parts in the back of their vans, and trucks for years. I had passed the trays in the hardware store on numerous occasions thinking they might be useful in my tool shed. Then I purchased a five gallon bucket with a plastic seat and a green fabric tool holder for some of my garden tools figuring it would be an easy way to carry some of my things to the garden all in one trip instead of several. I often used the bucket to sit on while sorting through the vegetation of bush beans while harvesting the beans.

The plastic bucket trays make it useful for storing some of the many parts used in drip irrigation.

Stacker brand bucket tray.

Add a bucket, fabric tool carrier and three our four bucket trays and you're ready to keep your drip irrigation system in A one condition.

With tools and supplies you're ready to repair drip irrigation.

I finally bought one of the trays to add to the bucket to hold seed packets, plastic row labels and a sharpened pencil or two. The system worked well. I bought more bucket trays as my drip irrigation supplies grew and started sorting the different parts into the trays. Now I have one bucket with three or four stackable trays that hold most of my drip irrigation supplies. All my drip supplies are in one spot and easy to get to when I need them.

Look for the bucket trays in your local hardware store or on-line. Prices vary from about $4 to $8. You may have to buy a $5 gallon bucket as well and they can usually be found for under $3.
