Sharp
Little Devil
The small light weight floral snip is perfect for that intricate pruning on the soft stems of plants. It's great for removing those old dead flowers and harvesting fresh herbs from the garden. I use my set for shaping some bonsai I've been training. The snips really get into the small spaces and make the intricate work easier. They'd also be great for thinning seedlings if you don't want to disturb their roots. I found my first set of snips in one of the chain stores when I was browsing the garden section. After I broke my blade I went back but could never find them again. As luck would have it, one of the garden supply catalogs I shop had them for sale. I paid a bit more, especially with the price of shipping but this is one tool I don't want to do with out. Check out Fiskars® Soft Touch Micro Pruning Snips, model 9921, on the companies website. On the site you can search for a retailer by zip code but my search came up blank. I paid $12.95 not including the shipping and handling when I ordered on-line. Update: With continued use, I've discovered it's easy to misplace the protective blade cover and the plastic locking blade mechanism can break. But the sharp needle like cutting blades still have their usage. |
