O-Rings & Hose Washers Over time, the original washers or O-rings dry out, crack or can become loose and fall out. The next thing you'll notice is leaking water, whether it's a slow drip or a pretty good spray at the two connections. Early spring is an excellent time to replace washers and O-rings before you really start the growing season and regular watering. With very little cost and little effort you'll save a little of what seems to be more and more a precious commodity these days - water. Hardware stores, and the big boxes all sell hose washers and o-rings. A couple bucks spent on a few extras washers and a little time used to stop water leaks is a good gardening investment. (2008) |
